Novak Djokovic has tied what has been considered one of the most unreachable records in tennis: Margaret Court's 24 Grand Slam wins.
With his 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 win over Daniil Medvedev, Djokovic won his fourth US Open trophy and his 24th Grand Slam title overall.
Djokovic looked strong early, taking advantage of some early nerves by Medvedev, who made three unforced errors and lost a point on a double fault to Djokovic in the first two games. Medvedev recovered in the third game, going up 30-0 before Djokovic stormed back and won four straight points to take the third game.

Really a great match as was the Medvedev-Alcarez match a couple of days ago. Medvedev is a fierce competitor. But Djokovic is in a class by himself.
I think if Djokovic had won Wimbledon last July, however, the calendar Grand Slam would have been at stake and I think, as has happened in the past, the pressure might have been too much for Djokovic and in such the fierce and close battle today, the edge may have been Medvedev’s.
Congrats to Djokovic for winning and Medvedev for playing such superb tennis today.
Maybe he wants to win Wimbledon one more time. Who knows?!
We need to ask a HARD QUESTION here: Is it fair to the vaccinated, to allow people who have not been vaccinated to play against them?
Lots of desire. He is going to set the new grand slam records the next few years and it will be untouched for decades. He will dominate for years to come barring any accidents/acts of God, especially over any male players who took the shots.
That's not true, their were others. Cole Beasley in the NFL is one.
Aaron Judge obviously wasn’t for a while, but I think he eventually did.
What about Kyrie Irving?
He turned 36 in May. Medvedev is 27.
Good point, which makes me ask who the GOAT really is.
Serena -27 year career = 23 slams
Djokovic - 20 year career = 24 slams
STEFFI GRAF - 17 year career = 22 slams, plus the Golden slam (four slams and Olympic gold in a single year winning in all surfaces)
They hate him for two reasons.
Not taking the vax and standing up to their bullying.
He is a Serb and they hate Serbs.
Oh you mean the unconstitutionally mandated vaccine that's killed who knows how many because the tyrannical unconstitutional federal government is not legally allowed to practice medicine or interfere with health care and doesn't know nor care about what the hell it's doing? That stupid thing?
To answer you question, no, I think those who think that free choice is "unfair" should just sit out the tournament and let those who have have a brain play.
Easy question, easy answer.
I bet he has a VERY strong desire to win one more major ...
Why just one?
There should be an asterisk for Steffi Graff. She wouldn't have had that many slams if they hadn't stabbed Monica Seles.
Brain fart ... mixing majors with slams. In his shoes, I’d want to break the record not tie it.

I preferred the youngest ever Grand Slam champion during the 1990’s.
It's just that Monica Seles was dominating women's tennis until Germany stabbed her.
You are correct on both.
That is ridiculous, so you think Graf deserved to lose because Seles was stabbed? Maybe if Djokovic hadn’t been disqualified for hitting a line judge in the throat with a ball, he might have won the 2020 US OPEN instead of being thrown out in the 4th round. Djokovic has finally found how to get some love at the 2023 “WOKE Open”, get some celebrity support, praise all black players and after winning the trophy put on a MAMBA FOREVER t-shirt with a picture of him and Kobe.
