These are people that cheat SSDI and Survivors benefits. They go back to work with SSDI coming in and they fail to tell SSA. Or a guardian or parent fails to report that a surviving child no longer lives with them. These people are cheats and don’t deserve any sympathy. They need to pay the money they stole back to the government. Of course, the librul press won’t report that.
Arrest the stupid people at the SSA and force all recipients to give back the overages.
After my husband died in 2020 one of the first calls I made, that wasn’t a family member or friend, was to SS to stop his payments. He had only been getting SS for about half a year but I didn’t want to have to deal with them about over payments.
So they are trying to collect from disabled citizens because they overpaid, but they don’t care about the billions in stolen payments to people for fraudulent covid payments?
Sounds to me as if the IRS has added a bunch of employees, those new hires should be working for SSA.
If that story is accurate, each person (adult or child) is getting $1100/month. That’s over $13,000/yr. Reportedly 7 million “asylum seekers” entered the country in the last 2 yrs which means they’ve cost us $92,000,000,000 in cash assistance alone, not to mention the free housing, medical insurance, and food stamps they’ve received. Where has my country gone?

Even if you have paperwork stating what you receive, THAT amount may be incorrect, and they’re comong after people for that, who have no clue that the calculations made by the SSA were wrong. So, no, it’s not that cut and dry.
Our government is incompetent. If we made a mistake, then it’s on us. As simple as that. We’ve spent $115 Billion on the war in Ukraine. I support that. But where’s the accountability?
