I am not going to assume -- yet -- that she was abducted. Although black bear attacks are relatively rare, they do happen. Same with coyote attacks (NY coyotes are a wolf/coyote hybrid). And while the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation claims that wild cats no longer inhabit NY, many people in rural areas claim otherwise.
