Tesla is not only selling cars but charging as well.
It’s like KIA controlling and selling gasoline
Well, they could run on 100% solar, IF:
1. They have a solar farm of sufficient size (roughly 50 acres).
2. They only operate during daytime.
3. They limit charging when the sunlight is limited
Well, if they CLAIM to be solar powered, is that not good enough?
Pretty much.
Batteries are dirty to make, they are dirty to recycle. They often use heavy metals or rare earth metals and child labor or unsafe working conditions in third world nations to source the materials. Strip mining for lithium is the usual way it’s sourced.
Batteries have a horrible energy density, meaning you need a lot of volume and mass to store the same amount of power as conventional fuel, as much as 7 or 8 times!
Batteries resist being charged, meaning some of the efficiency of an electric motor is lost in the bigger picture because the battery is using energy in the charge process (why they get hot).
Batteries have a very finite cycle life, meaning you’re building cars that are disposable. The idea of running a car 20 years is not feasible with an EV.
Batteries don’t do well in extreme heat or cold.
Batteries take a long time to charge. A 800 mile drive now needs to factor in several long stops to charge those batteries. They are really only ideal for commuting.
The problem has been and remains the storage of power for electric vehicles.
It’s expensive and riddled with problems.
But someone slapped a green label on it, and we all know how many folks react when they hear “green.” Like Pavlov’s dog.
There is no conversion to EV’s
There is however conversion to Teslaas
You mean they don’t run on unicorn farts?
“Superchargers charge vehicles up to the 80% sweet spot in as little as 20 minutes”
...a little tidbit that I didn’t know. Makes sense what they’re doing, but perhaps we should then derate the EVs if they plan on using a Supercharger - so one’s 300 mile range becomes 240 miles, and then goes down from there depending on weather and terrain.
We’re talking EVs here. BS is allowed.
Ran across a guy on YouTube converting bricked Tesla’s to V8’s. Would not be surprised if, in twenty years, those will be the only Tesla’s still on the road.
Well, you might be right.
Nor a magic box behind the socket on the wall.
You can’t make this stuff up!
Bahahahaha
And that sums up the libtard FRAUD about EVs
Want to bet those diesels can refresh their energy source energy fasten then a Telsa?
ROFL!!!
It would be better to burn the diesel in the vehicles themselves.
Could enough cars equal to diesel pickup trucks carry these generators to be equivalent?
No, actually a generator is WAY more efficient. Especially if it’s close by.
I said better.
Refueling “way” faster, range from a load of fuel is “way” greater, and environmental impact from the total system is “way” smaller.
If they convert the entire network to solar, customers won’t be able to charge their cars at night. The law of unintended consequences raises its ugly head again? As a work around, they could shine big lights on the solar panels using those idled diesel generators for power.
I read that the new woke airforce is going to renewable fuel...problem is its less efficient.
So a woke bomber drops a couple of tons high explosive on the enemy...but feels Good as the atmosphere was not polluted.
However his support fighter was soon out maneuvered and shot down because the woke fuel generates only 70% of the thrust.
At lest the airforce will save money as g-suits no longer required
