I adopted Tasha, a calico cat when my neighbor had to give her up due to a move. She was 13 at the time, so I knew she wouldn't be with me long. She made it 18 when she succumbed to renal failure, which is difficult to catch early and is a common cause of death in older cats. She passed on Election Day 2016
Currently, I have a Siamese mix that I named Calvin (after President Coolidge, for his blue eyes). He adopted me, apparently after his original owner kicked him out of their home.
