Can’t we just ban the breed? We’ve been talking about this since the eighties.

Crazy
Terrifying footage of a pitbull ran clear across the beach and headed out to sea to maul a kitesurfer in Argentina. He required 18 stitches https://rumble.com/v3kf4ki-pitbull-runs-clear-across-the-beach-and-heads-out-to-sea-to-maul-a-kitesurf.html
This shows that you should never run from a pitbull. You may get mauled anyway, but if you run it only feeds their madness. I stood down a pitbull once and he did stop.
People in suburban and urban areas shouldn’t be allowed to have killer dogs like that.
(They’re already not allowed to have lions and tigers and the like.)
No use to blame the dog. It is just doing what pit bulls do.
Pits have a strong following, bordering on romantic defenders of the breed sometimes.
Statistics vary, as they always do, sometimes showing that Pits (and their genetic relatives) are no more harmful than other breeds.
Nonsense.
Pits can be triggered. I've seen it, and it would make most folks feel sick to see what they do. In my case, I saw a pit bull attack a smaller dog (typical, they go after smaller, weaker targets). The pit clamped its powerful jaws on the helpless yorkie's neck and would only relax slightly to lap the blood, then tighten again.
It's in their DNA. If they get the trigger, they go native. The owner deserves a strong fine, a stronger lawsuit and perhaps criminal proceedings if laws were broken.
Or mandate owners of the breed to have insurance.
Pitbulls are our “strength”. LOL.
My daughter has a friend who was recently attacked by a pit owned by another friend. This is a dog she had been around often, for years! One day she was in their house and, poof, the dog just “snapped.”. Same old story with this breed, way too often.
Substitute the word Pit Bull with Gun and the argument is the same. Should we ban guns when a lunatic shoots up a school ??? Absolutely not, the response is always, it’s not the gun it’s the owner, the exact same thing is true of dogs.
Any breed of dog that is not properly socialize and trained will attack when it feels threatened.
We have a case in our neighborhood where an older lady has a Golden Retriever that has attacked multiple people and dogs, it’s not seriously injured any yet, the association is trying to get the woman to get rid of the dog.
Golden Retrievers are generally the kindest most good-natured dog around, you never hear of one attacking others, they do when they aren’t properly trained and socialized and owned by people that are too old to handle an 80-pound dog.
Biden has gone thru multiple dogs in the Whitehouse for exactly the same reason.
Back in 2017, a huge pitty walked in through the open front door of a house I was renovating. She found me in the kitchen. I stood there, frozen, trying not to betray my nervousness and slight fear. She approached me, jumped up, and killed me with non stop kisses. With all the stories I’ve read about them, I felt pretty lucky. Such a pretty sweetheart.
CHET99 honorary ping.
Pit bulls are the Muslims of the dog world.
One Pit Bull
One 9mm
Problem solved
That should read *put down* not *quarantined*.
Wrong because no gun ever picked itself up and started shooting someone without its owners control.
I live in a town of 4,000 people, and it’s amazing how many dogs get loose or are let loose around here, a lot of them pit bulls. On the local FB page, someone just posted that three of them, all about a year old, had been dumped in front of her house. There was one loose just down the street the other day. Another one ran off last night. A while back, two showed up at the microbrewery’s beer garden. Fortunately, there have been no attacks that I am aware of. Sonsofbitches. I mean the owners who let them get loose or abandon them.
