I know the article is dated 6/30/2023, but I just started seeing the message pop up when I'm on Youtube that says I won't be able to view videos after three strikes. Has anyone else seen this?

I've read where YT is targeting people who "have accounts," so if you simply log off then the warnings disappear, but then I won't have access to whatever channels I have saved, so that's not a good suggestion. I have found a couple of coding suggestions for use in Ublock Origin or the Brave browser, but I wanted to get ya'alls opinion about this. So far, the UBlock Origin coding doesn't seem to work. The jury is out on Brave.

If, at the end of the day, YT blocks me cuz I won't disable my adblocker, then I'll do as I do other websites that block me cuz I have an adblocker, I just won't go there anymore, but this, again, censorship at its tyrannical worst.

Crazy idea here. Stop using communist tube and start using one of the competitors. So crazy it might just work.

Just switch to a Brave browser, for YouTube for sure, won’t hurt you anywhere else either.

I've had Ghostery for years on my PC. I have it on my phone but for some reason it doesn't work like it does on the PC.
I can't stand to try and watch YT on my phone. The ads are obnoxious.
If they try to make me watch their ads I'll just do something else.

Prolly get more done..

Just started with me on Brave browser. I just ignore it. If YT pulls that stuff then forget YT. It’s impossible watching that site with ads every couple minutes and if you don’t click on skip ads then you could be watching thirty minutes of nonstop BS.

And what method do they plan on using to block people.

Cookies can be deleted. And I am pretty sure they won’t try to block by IP as many IP’s are not permanently assigned.

It costs money to be YouTube and host millions up on millions of videos Pay for YouTube premium to avoid ads. Don’t want to pay? Then watch the ads. Ad blockers are theft.

This notification happened to me about 5 mins ago. I did disable my adblocker, but may choose another venue soon.

I use the Brave browser and haven’t received any popups or notifications about it yet. But for 2-3 days last week when using Brave they removed the controls for screen size and video speed ect. But it was restored after that and I continue to use Brave. I can’t stand using other browsers there because it seems like every 5 minutes they insert a commercial.

“LET US ABUSE YOU OR YOU WON’T GET ABUSED BY US ANYMORE!!!”

In other words, Ad Blockers work.

I think advertisers are suckers for the most part. Advertising works but not when the advertisements are lost in a sea of noise.

YouTube sells ads through third-party ad companies. Those companies sell ads by lying their asses off to companies that buy ads. They never tell the companies that their add will be lost in a sea of 10,000 other ads including those of their competitors.

The average person on the Internet sees more than 10,000 ads a day. How in the world will someone remember any specific ad? They don’t. Most users never can tell what ads they have seen.

Companies using ads also fail to understand that beating their customers into submission is for the mob and doesn’t work. “Watch you ad or you don’t get to see our content!!! Got it, Buddy??!! Buy something, you jerk!!! Watch our ads and buy something!!!”

They fail to realize the content a user wants is usually available elsewhere. Very little on the Internet is unique.

The problem many sites have is that people often dont really care if they see the content or not. I wont sit through an ad longer than 15 seconds for any site (only because it takes a while to navigate, and if the ad is done...I am ok, nor will i disable my ad blocker, nor will i pay to read a single article. I just move on. I suspect most people do the same.

“Online add-supported” business models are free to keep trying. But most folks simply dont care enough to let their time be wasted.

>> I just won’t go there anymore, but this, again, censorship at its tyrannical worst.

That is indeed the primary problem with Google. And although the ads are annoying and intrusive, the commercial aspects make sense — actually for any site.

For sites that intolerantly block when ad blocked, I’ll immediately leave the site.

I’ve never understood why blockers “block” ads in a way detectable by the site. Just accept it as if you were going to show it, but throw it away.

I’ll have too quit watching some because they put a commercial nearly every five minutes. It shouldn’t be worse than network TV but some are.

Watch a video on Youtube is BS.Your watching at minimum of 5 Ads in a 10 minute video.

Youtube claims that watching their ads pays their video producers when in reality we know that Youtube defrauds these producers by cancelling their payments especially when they say something Youtube hates. Like Shouting that the Covide Vaccines is deadly.

I may watch video on Youtube but I’ll do my best to kill their ads because they’re wasting my bandwidth.

I want an ad blocker, for popups anyway, that creates a second tab which emulates everything on the first tab, EXCEPT the popups. The user watches the popup-free second tab, while the website allows full access to its content, because the browser (truthfully) reports that it is displaying 100% of the website’s ad content on the first tab.

Would not work for ads like YouTube’s, that interrupt the entire content stream, but it would be great for popups.

Maybe I should have patented that idea, before posting it.
