I have a huge scratchpad text file from a number of years. Most things I think are important to remember I put down the title, date, source URL and FR link if it is appropriate. And some notes about the article.
It is not a database, that requires too rigid a structure.
But I can quickly search for key words and usually find what I wanted to remember.

I understand completely! My ‘notes’ on my iPhone is filled with the same. You sound more meticulous with the info when you save yours tho.
