We There are many candidates for giants in other sources, but from what I see most are dismissed, usually as "Height not officially confirmed, esp anything over about 8'5''. But among others in modern times,
Dumitru Ștefănescu (September 15, 1909 – June 8, 1936), better known as Gogea Mitu,[2] was a Romanian professional boxer. Mitu is also listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest professional boxer.[3] On June 8, 1936, he died due to tuberculosis at the age of 26.
Gheorghe Dumitru Mureșan (Romanian pronunciation: [ˈɡe̯orɡe mureˈʃan] ⓘ; born 14 February 1971), also known as "Ghiță" (Romanian: [ˈɡit͡sə]), is a Romanian former professional basketball player. At 7 feet 7 inches (2.31 m), he is one of the two tallest players to have ever played in the NBA.[2][3]
Sun Mingming (Chinese: 孙明明; pinyin: Sūn Míngmíng, born August 23, 1983) is a Chinese former professional basketball player. He is the tallest professional basketball player in the world and was measured by the Guinness World Records as 2.36 m (7 ft 9 in) tall and weighing 168 kg (370 lb).[1]
Édouard Beaupré, (January 9, 1881 – July 3, 1904) was a Canadian circus and freak show giant, professional wrestler, strongman, and star of Barnum and Bailey's circus. He was one of the tallest men in recorded history, with a reported height of 2.52 m (8 ft 3 in).[1][2]
