Things are far worse now than in previous decades.
I agree. The stuff that is going up quickly, and by a lot are medical care, food, energy. All essentials. Clothing is cheaper than it was in the '70s, and the quality is at least as good for the most. Even at the height of '70s inflation (that best comparable), candy bars stayed at 15 cents for a long time, now it is $1.39 for a regular size, more at the convenience store.
