I've said for many years now that the US should close Incirlik. We should move out all our equipment and munitions, flatten the land, and then give it back to Turkey. Good riddance.
We have mucho weapons stored there...
No Muslims in vehicles on any US bases.
What kind of security do they have to protect the airpersons? I know the Navy uses Marines.
I was at Incirlik in 1982. I felt the same way, back then. I never thought the Turks were our ally.
Back in the 60s when they tried to storm Sinope, they were told go home or no water for you, and if that doesn’t float your boat, the 100 artillery pieces aimed at your town will.

The only thing keeping Turkey from developing nuclear weapons is our storing of the weapons at Incilrik. We pull out of Incilrik and the Turkey tries to rebuild the Ottoman empire.
Any American would have been shot dead on the spot.
Useful during the Cold War. But it's a liability to have them there. It's not far from Syria. What if ISIS captures the base?
I agree! Especially get any nukes remaining there out.
WELL PLACED BOMB WOULD SOLVE THIS VERY QUICKLY!
