I don’t know about that...but they sure didn’t open their wallets to get his campaign funded, that’s for sure. McConnell could have gone through is rolodex and called in some favors to get Cameron enough money to at least be on par with Beshear. Though...the establishment org the RGA has been running regular ads throughout the cycle, but Beshear also had the DGA on his side so Cameron has still been overwhelmed and on defense this entire time. I don’t think this race would have been close if Beshear had been made to be on defense instead having to answer for the far-left policies he has pursued that most Kentuckians don’t know about. Beshear has been able to market himself as a moderate to conservative governor...he is anything but. He could run in Massachusetts or California he’s so far left.

Unfortunately, as is sadly typical, neither did the GOP base or MAGA base...as has been done year after, they also kept their wallets closed and sat on their behinds again. 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023...left the candidates twisting in the wind to a Dem onslaught. The Democrats have no such problem. Their base shells out tens of millions of dollars in small donations to each candidate in addition to their corporate backers.
