I drive a 2005 Ford Ranger. It is a great truck, and serves me very well. I maintain it, and have no thought at all of selling it. I’m in my 70s, and I expect my truck to outlive me.

I’ve had 2 Ford Rangers.

1997 Ranger. Reg. Cab. 4 cyl. Automatic.

1999 Mazda B4000. Ext. Cab. Auto.

I loved them both. The B4000 probably more since it was nicer.

"...a 2005 Ford Ranger..."

.

Rangers were good trucks.
I drove an 1986 Ranger for over 296,000 miles.
I had very little trouble with it.
The only annoyance was that the thing ate headlights.
I would only get about 12 to 18 months on a headlight - and it would burn out.

Someone here on FR (a professional auto mechanic) told me that the cause
was probably a bad voltage regulator.
So NOW I find that out - decades too late!
