What happened to Newsmax?

Posted on 11/07/2023 5:40:11 PM PST by Kevin in California

The Newsmax I'm picking up is different now. I'm unable to watch Rob Schmitt, Bolling, etc. Instead, they're airing programs Im not interested in.

I've tried checking all my apps and can no longer find the original Newsmax I was picking up last week.

WTH is going on?

Starting tomorrow — Wednesday, Nov. 1 — the Newsmax channel will no longer be streaming for free on OTT services like Samsung, Roku, YouTube, Vizio, LG, Xumo, Pluto and other platforms — including your smartphone app.

Why?

Under our cable agreements Newsmax has to go behind a paywall.

On Nov 1st Newsmax streaming, with only 1 day of warning, went behind a paywall

“newsmax2” now is the free version

They’ve stopped free streaming of those pgms you mentioned. You now have to pay $5/mo or $50/yr to get the Newsmax+ programming.

Newsmax went to a paid streaming service on November 1. $5 month.

Newsmax+ (newsmaxplus.com)

What you're now seeing is NewsMax2, which is like the JV team.

To get the regular Newsmax, you have to sign up to subscribe and download the updated app.

So they are still getting ad revenue on top of subscription revenue?

What a crock of shit

You can still stream Real America’s Voice. It’s more Conservative than NewsMax.

Yeah RAV is my #1 channel that “was” followed by Newsmax.

They’re not gonna $4.99 from me. Bet their viewership suffers from this.

Try to imagine how little I care. Newsmax was always a second-rate, me-too source as far as real news went. Dropped from my list of daily reads years ago.

“...$5.00/Month or $100/year ...”

Let’s see $5.00 per month is $60.00 year, or I can pay for $100.00 per year for the privilege of making only one payment.

HMMMM decisions decisions.

They’ve lost their way, no great loss. Afterall Susan Estrich, a Clinton goop-gobbler who was jealous of Monica has a byline there!

I wouldn’t pay for carp either. They’re a garbage fish which I toss back in the water after catching them.

Newsmax was the first “conservative” channel that referred to Biden as President Elect. Maybe the first of all channels, but I’m not positive about that. That’s when we stopped watching — in 2020.

I think it will suffer as well. I’d never pay to watch them... too many neocons and rinos.
