I remember the first time I paid tax when I was around 8. I cried because I thought the clerk ripped me off because I had added the exact amount in my head.

My contempt for govt started young.

My nephew’s daughter was around 2nd grade in public school and learned there that taxes are good. So my nephew did some meaningful “home schooling”.

When she was given candy, dessert, or similar, he’d take a bite first. She objected. Then he told her, “That’s a tax.” She stopped being a fan of taxes.
