Pope Francis kicks conservative US Cardinal Raymond Burke out of his Vatican apartment and strips him of his salary after he criticized pontiff's pro-LGBT stance

Pope Francis has kicked conservative US Cardinal Raymond Burke out of his Vatican apartment and stripped him of his salary after he criticized the pontiff's pro-LGBT stance.

Francis has decided to punish Burke by revoking his right to a subsidized Vatican apartment and salary in the second such radical action against an American prelate this month, according to two sources.

It is understood Francis told a meeting of the heads of Vatican offices last week that he was moving against Burke because he was a source of 'disunity' in the church, said one of the participants at the November 20 meeting.

Burke's privileges of having a subsidized Vatican apartment and salary as a retired cardinal have been removed because he was using the benefits against the church, said another person who was subsequently briefed on the pope´s measures.

Both insiders spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to reveal the details.

Burke has not received any notification of measures being taken, his secretary said in a text message Tuesday to The Associated Press.

Burke, a 75-year-old canon lawyer whom Francis had fired as the Vatican's high court justice in 2014, has become one of the most outspoken critics of the pope, his outreach to LGBTQ+ Catholics and his reform project to make the church more responsive to the needs of ordinary faithful.

Twice, Burke has joined other conservative cardinals in issuing formal questions to the pontiff, known as 'dubia,' asking him to clarify questions of doctrine that upset conservatives and traditionalists.

In the first, they asked Francis to clarify his outreach to divorced and civilly remarried Catholics, and Francis never replied. In the second, they asked whether same-sex couples could receive church blessings - and received a conditional maybe in response.

“..criticized the pontiff’s pro-LGBT stance..” that, in and of itself tells me the Cardinal was right.

as a bishop in Argentina, wasn’t Francis a leader in the socialist “liberation movement” that moved the continent leftward??? If so, he has a deep hatred for all people and things labeled, “conservative.”

Attention Mr. Bergoglio:

Catechism of the Catholic Church:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, 141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." 142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

If "intrinsically disordered" doesn't get the message across to you, try "abomination". That's the word used in Scripture

wear it like a badge of honor Raymond Burke because you are standing on scripture where this so called pope isn’t.

The WOKE, communist loving Pope is the one who should be removed from the Vatican, not cardinals who expose his blasphemy.

Interesting way the Daily Mail characterizes Francis’ horrible actions.

“The Pope is a Prop!”

And not acting in a very Christian manner if you ask me.

If you had told me forty years ago that the American Catholic Church would be considered the conservative stronghold of the Catholic faith, I’d have told you to go pound sand ...

There are no ordinary faithful. To suggest that is to believe a strategy of appealing to the lowest common denominator will grow the church. It might, but it won’t grow the faith. Because what Francis’ really means by ordinary is the ignorant, rebellious, stubborn, selfish, and complacent faithful. The same which even St. Paul admonished.

I don’t recall St. Paul writing that the faith had better change all that gruff about sin and salvation so that these faithful would not turn away. Did I miss that?

Souls are at stake. The false love of turning a blind eye to scandalous sin is damning. Francis will have to answer for much.

Today's Gospel reading:

Luke 21:12-19 © Your endurance will win you your lives

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Men will seize you and persecute you; they will hand you over to the synagogues and to imprisonment, and bring you before kings and governors because of my name – and that will be your opportunity to bear witness.
Keep this carefully in mind: you are not to prepare your defence, because
I myself shall give you an eloquence and a wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to resist or contradict.
You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relations and friends; and some of you will be put to death.
You will be hated by all men on account of my name, but not a hair of your head will be lost.
Your endurance will win you your lives.’

I grew up Catholic, went to Jesuit university. And then stopped attending mass because they absolutely HATE women. Apparently, God doesn’t love women.

Then just a few years ago, I was going to an Adult Children of Alcoholics meeting in a very nice building on campus of another Catholic university. Felt really creepy passing a certain building on beautiful wooded campus. Turns out that’s where the pedophile priests live. Stopped going to that meeting. But I did manage to totally forgive my poor afflicted mother.

Doesn’t the Pope have Papal Supremacy and is the Vicar of Christ and pastor of the entire Church have supreme and universal power over the whole Church? If so wouldn’t criticism or disobediance against him be disobediance of Christ and be a mortal sin?

The only Jesuit I’ve ever had any first-hand contact with was a fellow graduate student. He didn’t hate women. He left the priesthood to marry one.

It was OK for St. Paul to disagree with St. Peter, but apparently it’s not OK for Cardinal Burke to disagree with the successor to St. Peter.
