While I agree there’s some that will use this for pushing their agenda on our kids...at the same time, I use ChatGPT almost daily to learn. It’s a fantastic tool, especially for technology related topics. I can ask the dumbest question and never look dumb. Go from a basic understanding of something to example code. It’s like having a personal instructor that goes at whatever pace you want.
IMHO this is the future. Anything where the knowledge base is fairly static (e.g. basic math, sciences, law, medical) will increasingly have AI options. There aren’t enough teachers, especially good ones.
AI is dangerous, but it’s a technology race we can’t sit on the sidelines and watch.
I went and tried Bard, it was kinda fun. While I had to scrounge some data for it, I asked it how long it would take for a spacecraft of a certain mass, using constant thrust ion engines to reach 10% of light, it gave me an answer, don’t know if it was right or not, but it “showed” it’s work, which I thought was neat.
