I was a Battery Executive Officer for 4 years and a Commander for 3.
She was no in front the of the gun, but off to the side where you catch a lot of the muzzle blast.
While not the best place to be when firing, you can get some great pictures from the vantage point.

Correct... It is obvious from the video that it was the blast from the brake that knocked her over.
Having been on the firing line with .50 BMG and 20mm... I do enjoy that “thump”. Even then, I can only imagine being that close to a field piece like that when it’s touched off.

Been there…done that! In OCS at Ft. Sill back in the summer of 1967, another candidate and I were running a hot loop around the battery (155mm Towed (Pigs)) while we were told that the battery was “cold”. When we got out in front the the base piece, it let go with a charge five white bag which knock my cohort over and rocked me.
Okay, I was 20 and now at 76, I have VA hearing aids to address the missing frequency band, but shit happens and you have to keep soldiering on.

It,only tangentially, has to do with Jews! Sometimes, I think people are too thin-skinned. What, immediately, occurred to me about this video is how, incredibly stupid this person was! Not that she was Israeli or Jewish, just plain and simple stupid!
I don’t disagree this was stupid.
But 18 year old conscripts do all sorts of stupid stuff. Why this makes news is curious.
I don’t know, ask the people who published it!
