Odd how that's sort of the inverse of how things have been historically. Could this have something to do with why we no longer seem to have an automatic turnout advantage in off year elections now too?

I could only speculate that part of the issue is that with so much talk of "stolen elections" and "rigged machines," those who are inclined to believe that the fix is in are less inclined to vote because they believe it is an act of futility.
