That was then, you and I are from a different generation.

There might be something to that, except that I purposefully chose (and so did my wife) someone's whose core values (traditional Roman Catholicism) would make such less likely, NOT only because of our own beliefs at the time, but also because our friends and families largely share those beliefs, and either of us would be somewhat ostracized if we acted in such a hypocritical manner. My wife's peers (friends at church and family members) would NOT encourage her on such a path.

In short, I found someone whose values are from a different era, and hold them myself. In our case, I don't make so much money that there is any pot of gold for her to tap into, and since she is a homemaker/homeschooler, her workload would be increased, not decreased.

It is challenging, but I know too many good marriages (MANY) with folks much younger where the collapse you describe remains highly unlikely.

As I see it every day, everything is transactional with the younger generations. They haven’t shown a propensity of doing anything long term. Those that do are more the exception than the rule. I see young women like her getting roasted online for her choices. The Feminazis demean her as being the antithesis of freedom.

That was my entire point.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
