Ah! Ruach. Reach. The smell, or spirit, of film.

Now we're talking.

And in the spirit of this thread topic... (I don't suppose you are otherwise occupied in opening presents under the Christmas Tree right now, so perhaps you'll have a little time to read)

Yereach

This gets even better because the word-memory-association caused me to wander over to Klein's (the "little" light) for to refresh my memory and/or learn something new (the key for how it all adds up over time):

יָרֵֽחַ m.n. moon. [Perhaps related to base ארח and lit. meaning ‘wanderer’.
cp. Ugar. yrh, Ethiop. warh, Akka. warhu, later arhu (= moon, month), Arab. warraha, arraha (= he fixed a date, dated). cp. יֶרַח. cp. also תַּאֲרִיךְ (= date).] Derivative: יְרֵחִי.

ארח to travel, journey.
    — Qal - אָרַח wandered, journeyed.
    — Pi. - אֵרַח he accommodated.
    — Hith. - הִתְאָרַח he stayed with.
    — Hiph. - הֶאֱרִיחַ (of s.m.).
    — Hoph. - הָאֳרַח was accommodated. [Arab. rāḥa (= he went away), Tigre marḥa (= he showed the way, led, conducted). Base of אֹרַח, אוֹרְחָה. cp. ירח.] Derivatives: אוֹרְחָה, אֵרוּחַ, אֹרַח, הַאֲרָחָה, מְאָרֵחַ.

אֹֽרַח m.n. (pl. אֳרָחָוֹת) 1 path, way, route. 2 mode, manner. 3 way of life. [From ארח. cp. BAram. אָרְחָא, Aram. אוֹרֽחָא, OSArab. ארח, Akka. urḥu (= way).]

"Perhaps related to base ארח and lit. meaning ‘wanderer’" 🤣

On that note, a further memory trigger is to yet another song about Joseph, besides Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and Dream River...

Often when I'd pull up "Teenager in Love" by Dion [and his beautiful mountains], the Wanderer would end up in the youtube sidebar as well.

It's a classic, but that one (unlike Teenager in Love) never seemingly matched at all, out of character. I mean come on..

Here I am, so maybe I kept missing something.

Upon reading the lyrics I had to laugh, because for whatever reason last night, I was on this page about good, and Joseph, when this at the top had reminded me of Rudolph:

Rashi: "and he was a lad"
He behaved childishly, fixing his hair and touching up his eyes so that he would appear handsome.

Thus I was looking for the matching visual.

As you can see, "behaving childishly" certainly worked!

A planet is a wandering star [כוכב לכת], so here's more fun in the bouncy house of ingenuity,

bright red nose -- > red planet Mars 🔴-- > red Sol/Sun -- > place named for being the origin of the Sun 🔴 (why is that iconic Sun red, anyway), ergo first light of Day on CONUS -- > first sunrise on Mars Hill (place named for Hezekiah who was "was supposed to be the messiah" but he didn't play...

You ever notice that Hezekiah chose to have the [sun]dial of "Ahas" go back 10 degrees, which as a function of the Earth's rotation is 40 minutes -- the very difference between the length of an Earth Day and a Sol, a Mars-Day. However, the Sol-counts simply count a day on Mars as having 24-hours, so those "10 degrees" go back every day. It's a 'miracle'! 😇

This run-though really opened a whole new perspective on the concept that the sense of smell is the most spiritual sense (and memory-maker), because here I am riding a wave on the literal words for spirit and scent, not the sense itself, or even the topic. All kinds of light.

It all reminds me of a song:

And I think it's gonna be all right
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

Red Rubber Ball

***

The standard model of 'education' served to make me despise school. It was truly a horrible dungeon in my experience. But then when I do things this way, wandering out wherever the spirit goes... always big prizes for playing.

The EZ ("El", L) key -- "play well". An added bonus is that this word is often transliterated as "mapteach", without a distinguishing between syllables:

מפתח

And it's not just an ordinary key, a מפתח is a developer, of visions (e.g. film, software... real estate). Also the solution in which the image is developed.

A red safelight.

You can always wander over to Gen 41:45 to find that key in the last letter of each word in the phrase: sheM YoseF TzaphnaT Paane'aCH. You might spy the key of life at the end as well.

Remember how the Tzohar was passed down to Joseph (see 109. The Tzohar. Talk about timing -- it's on pg. 85, the number of verses in this week's parsha*, and the Book of Ruth, the 85-verse birth announcement for King David, and so much more), who had put it in his silver cup?

Ahem, that IS what is utilized in the darkest room, to develop the image, demonstrating that Jewish "storytime" is way more literal than people might ever suspect.

Ingenious. But as it always goes, you have to pry it up, to see. (Ooops. But then quick-thinking David took that shard of pottery, and inscribed the Tetragrammaton...)

("Red, do me a favor...")

Also,

I have found an amazing amount of intel on maps, even or especially on "street view".

My Lord, what a morning,
My Lord, what a morning,
My Lord, what a morning,
When the Stars Begin to Fall

(Whoever actually follows the star, the little footnote, all the way down to the bottom of the... page?)

*In the seventh reading, Joseph spoke kindly to them, comforted them, and committed to sustain them and their little ones.[55]

Right, because everyone of a certain age should easily recall the word on the street: "55 saves lives".

THE SECRET CODE- Parshat Vayechi

How can it be a secret code if everybody knows the code?

Word on the billboard meme:

"Don't make me come down there" ~ God 😉

109. THE TZOHAR

When the world was first created, God filled the world with a sacred light, known as the primordial light. This was the light that came into being when God said , " Let there be light" (Gen. 1:3). It was not the light of the sun, for that did not come into being until the fourth day, when God created the sun and the moon and the stars.

It was a miraculous light by which it was possible for Adam to see from one end of the world to the other.

(The NORAD Santa tracker was up and running.)

See, if people hardly ever read the footnotes (the fine print), they surely won't be making it past them...

It's like the very best of the best presents under the Christmas Tree, saved for last, for all of the good little girls and boys.

Hah. Now, will you ever be able to clean up the mess from that mountain of gift wrap?

It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags!

(Sneaky!)

What a morning...

Play well!

Of course, the brothers were completely weirded out and spooked on account of the prime minister of Egypt arranging them by birth order.

It was super-easy though, because he knew those guys.

Same thing with the chief butler and chief baker. Joseph could interpret their dreams because he knew those guys:

Genesis 39

20. And Joseph's master took him, and put him in the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined; and he was there in the prison:
21. But the Lord was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison:
22. And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison; and whatever was done there, he was the doer of it:

(It's so hard to find good help these days.)

For along with the everlasting peace of Mashiach will come the explanation of the reasons for the exile, and the pain and suffering of the Jewish people that accompanied it.

Who's ever observes anything anymore? Who actually reads the fine print?

Replied the fish, “Silly fox. In the water I still have a chance. But once I leave the water, I will surely die.”

Oh come on, who doesn't remember the scene with the Libyans? Marty - named after Mars, aka Michael J. Fox was on his way to good ol' 1955 when the Libyans crashed into the Fox photo kiosk.

One hour developing!

(Gotta laugh.)

Twin Pines/Lone Pine Mall:

Centro Comercial La Puente ("the bridge"), located in the City of... Industry, in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.

Actually it's just to the north of I-60, another "GO" highway, but if you check a map you can see that the Foothill Fwy is the 210.

210.

If you take a closer look along the 210 to the west, you'll find the City of Hope.

Refuah Shlemah!

And to the east, San Dimas, the place of Raging Waters (aka Waterloo.)

Remember So-crates? Famous for his wisdom? He loved... San Dimas.

And in-between is route 39, which is 40, minus 1.

It's all in there somewhere. What Ben 👜 👜 said.

Nobody but nobody should be disrespecting the Jewish sages.

Could you do a video podcast even? It would be a global hit.

You are hiding your lantern under a bushel if you are only here.

There are massive markets for the way you think and entertain and enlighten.
