I have to agree, kids were bad assed back in the day. We learned by trial and error. dumb assism didnt last long in most kids.

air powered pellet guns, rock fights, shootouts with roman candles and bottle rockets, climbing trees, no bike helmets, snow sledding down hills with trees at the bottom, chemistry sets with bunson burners, wood burning sets,

A bit O/T, but for my 8th grade drama class, one of the assignments was a public presentation. My topic was "Chemistry Fun at Home". For my intro, I lit a firecracker in the classroom.

My ears rang for 10 minutes, but I got through it. I received an A, because the teacher praised my originality. Wouldn't dare consider that today, life was different back in 1968.
