A good policy. There’a a several hundred foot drop, locally, with a sloped edge, carpeted in sometimes slippery grass.
Time to outlaw phones.
Did she get the shots up on her FB page?
Id hit it
I would have stayed on the top and used the cameras zoom feature
**I don’t even like watching that current commercial where they’re backing up that vehicle to the edge of the cliff!**
I’ve watched a few videos of people driving their vehicles (anything from stock suvs to rockclimber rigs), on remote mountain trails or entirely offroad, and think, “Are these people that bored, that they are willing to wreck their vehicle, and injure or kill themselves for a little thrill?”
I noticed one off-road yootoob channel, where the (mid 20s?) blonde host has the camera on herself at least half the time. Her bible is probably the magazine ‘Self’.
Yes, they are nuts!
FlingWingFlyer ~ You just coined a new word.
...and Oy'm stealing it, Oy am!
Yeah. How was their marriage going?
A mid-40s woman and her father died a few weeks ago when the private plane she was piloting (on a sunny day) crashed in south central TN.
She had a yootoob channel which recorded her adventures in learning to fly, her purchase of a higher performance single engine plane, and her training towards earning an instrument rating (for flying in poor visiblity conditions). She hadn’t earned that rating yet.
After hearing about the tragedy, I watched portions of a couple of her recent videos. Then I watched a high time pilot (with his own channel) give his thoughts on what caused the crash, saying he watched several of her videos.
He concluded (respectfully) that this woman, after about 400 hours of flying time, still wasn’t fully understanding how an airplane works; and marvelled that she had somehow gained a private license. Furthermore, he said she obviously was not ready to fly the higher performance plane she bought the year before.
Hours of experience is not a completely accurate means of proving competence. Some folks just don’t know or have the gift of becoming ‘one with the machine’. I suspect a flight instructor(s), and possibly the FAA examiner, are getting questioned about this woman being approved to pilot a plane.
I knew a woman about 35 years ago that achieved a private license, but quit flying shortly afterwards, because she knew she was not very confident in her skills. A wise choice.
Yeah. I know this story. A variation of it is on Investigation Discovery about once a week.
Tip: The husband did it.
Are you sure? Might be in rough shape after going over the cliff, not to mention hitting bottom. Also, temperature might not be optimum. Just sayin'...
Totally sucks for men. It’s a world where women sush like lemmings to cliff sides for dramatic photos, selfies, etc to post on social media. They fall and the man is somehow a suspect.
Just don’t take out large life insurance policies on your wife.
Those tend to get the attention of investigators.
;-)
Uh huh.
Wow. I just looked up the article. No way should she have been flying.
“Was she a friend of Putin?”
Or maybe Putin jammed her phone’s GPS? Either way, the Ukraine Cheerleaders will find a way to pin this on Russia.
