God-fearing, family-loving, 69 yr old country boy. 45 yrs of blissful marriage to my wonderful wife. Two fine sons w/good jobs, both have served in the defense of the nation. One is married to a wonderful little lady from 'Bama, who (so far) has given us four beautiful grandchildren. The other son is still looking (but not hard enough) for a Godly wife (help!).

Thanks mostly to Jimmah Cawtah, and his grain embargo to Russia, my farming career (crops and livestock) was severely crippled shortly after I had expanded it (and had begun a family as well). That was my first big wakeup call to politics. More importantly, it made me SERIOUSLY seek the Lord, which resulted in both my wife and I becoming born again (the Bible way!). I kept on farming, but worked other jobs to supplement it, until after a landlord died, and me being unable to compete with the big operators and the ever higher cash rents, waved goodbye to that career in 2001. Jobs held during and after the farm include: grain elevator assistant manager, aircraft mechanic (not licensed, although a private pilot), auto mechanic, metal fabricator (probably what I'm best at), heavy equipment operator, and class A CDL driver (have pulled a wide variety of trailers). And, in recent years, I've become an author of a Bible study.

Having been thrust into the position of Sunday school teacher many years ago, I was aware that I needed to quickly add to my knowledge and understanding of the scriptures. That wasn't easy while working two jobs, but God gives to everyone a measure of faith. He gave me the faith in his Word so that I could learn from the scriptures, as well as from his creation; even of his Godhead. So all these years later I offer (to those interested) my self-published Bible study book: "ONE, There Is None Other". Self-styled quote about myself: I can do a lot of things, but am not good at any of them. I guess that makes me good-for-nuthin.

After 62 years in rural northwestern IL, the wife and I left for south central TN. So far so good.

Some here on FR have wondered about the name ‘Zuriel’.
I was looking for a biblical one that is hardly remembered by even regular readers of the ‘good book’. It means ‘God is the Rock’.
Zuriel was chief of the families of Merari (who was one of Levi’s three sons), and was in charge of the boards, bars, pillars, sockets, vessels thereof of the tabernacle in the wilderness. It was pitched like a tent, with a courtyard curtain 'wall' around it, and was reliant on the various fixtures to stand. In other words, Zuriel and his tribe were responsible for maintaining the foundation and framework of it all.
