Any punches or kicks to the head are actually attempted first-degree murder - because you can kill a person without actually killing them.

Enough brain damage, and the still-living person is not the same person. You've killed them.

It's a loophole in our joke of a "justice" system.

Cops aired their belief Lockridge punched Hurtado eight times and stomped him at least four.

The can be released on bail as soon as the get the same treatment just something to think about in the future.
