Hi guys! First of all, would like to thank Laz for throwing up a prayer thread for me and soooo appreciate your prayers! I’m a firm believer and could feel them! It’s been a very frightening and challenging time.
I started to fight something off on the 21st. Thought it was the usual crud. Christmas Eve..slight fever. Made Christmas casserole for the boys for the morning. Picked up a heavy food processor and thought I had pulled my left side. (It was Pleurisy).
Christmas Day, woke up and baked the casserole and unwrapped gifts. I left the boys to eat as I returned up and down to bed.
That eve my fever shot up to 102. Chest pain. Unproductive cough. Told hubby I needed to get to docs in the morning. By 1:30am...I couldn’t breathe. Called 911. Off to ER.
Wasn’t allowed water. Parched. There for hours as tests were run. ER doc was very concerned.
The following recollections are sketchy at best. I had very low BP and 02 levels. I couldn’t get enough water. There was NO thirst like it.
They put me on a device (below a vent) that breathed for me. I’m claustrophobic. As well as not being able to breathe...panic set in and had to have a good jab of Ativan.
I must’ve kept ripping off my mask to get a drink of water. Next thing I knew, I had a room full of people and restrained to the bed. I had pneumonia, sepsis, and pleurisy.
It’s been a long 8 days. I’m still very weak and have adema. Post hospital follow-up with doc tomorrow.
I want to thank each and every one of you for you prayers, and to the Good Lord for giving me one more day. It really has meant a lot!
And, Laz, thanks again! You’re a good egg! ๐
Shush, you! I have a reputation to protect!
So glad you are feeling better!
Sorry. Edema.
Gained a good 8-10 pds in water weight...but gradually losing fluid.
Will see what Doc has to say tomorrow.
I’m petite, so the fluid retention has REALLY weighed me down and added to the weakness.
I have “Hillary Cankles” and “elephant legs”.
