Mexico does not want these illegal aliens in their nation either. So long as they come into Mexico and cross into the USA Mexico does not care. The cartel gets their cut and the corrupt government officials up to and including their president gets their cut. They do not care.
Close the damn border and let millions of hungry aliens pile up in Mexico demanding food and shelter and Mexico will immediately become our partner in keeping them out of Mexico and thus out of the United States.
It is that simple.

I grew up on the border, I speak Spanish but I am a gringo, my wife is from Mexico and legally a US citizen, and a graduate with more than one degree from UT. We both welcome legal migrants with skills our nation needs. We both oppose illegal alien migration.

Eisenhower knew how to handle illegal immigration.
He detained the illegals until he had a shipload. Then he’d ship them to the southernmost port of Mexico.
This made it economically impossible for illegals to make repeated border crossing attempts.
The furthest point south of the border for South American ones.
Back to country of origin for African/Chinese/whatever for the rest.
Oh .. for the South Americans, there’s a lovely island paradise called “Isla Hornos” ... It’s on the South American continental shelf, so it probably qualifies as the “furthest point south of the border” ...
