Patrick Mahomes Sr., the dad of superstar Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and a former Mets pitcher, was arrested Saturday in Tyler, Texas, on a charge of DWI for the third time or more, according to jail records.
Mahomes Sr., who had been in attendance for his son’s playoff games this year, was arrested eight days before the younger Mahomes is set to play in Super Bowl 2024 against the 49ers in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.
In 2018, Mahomes Sr. received his second DWI charge and he served 40 days in jail on weekends in 2019 and 2020.
Mahomes Sr., 53, played 11 seasons in MLB, pitching for the Mets in the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Mahomes Sr. and his ex-wife Randi, the Chiefs quarterback’s mom, got divorced in 2006,

The couple’s other son, Jackson Mahomes, got into his own trouble with the law last year.
Jackson was arrested in May on an aggravated sexual battery charge after he was accused of assaulting the owner of a restaurant last February.
Charges against Jackson were dropped last month after a judge approved a request from prosecutors to have them dropped.

Sounds like serious drinking/alcohol issues.

There is no greater joy than a son being proud of his father, and little worse than being disappointed in his father. Jr. knows he is a child of his Heavenly Father, who will be with him for eternity.

Pat Mahomes does not seem fortunate in his family - apparently his brother and wife are both well-known and widely disliked on social media, and his brother has also has been charged with sexual harassment. And his father (a former MLB player) has been charged with DUI several times.
Pat seems to mean well. A part of the problem is that, he's an enabler.
So his wife gets to act like a brat and his brother is a jack@ss (funny his name is Jackson).
So part of his job is to rein them in because he's providing the funds for their lifestyle.
