All I’ll ever do is call or email. I have never sent a text in my life, and don’t intend to start.
I had to learn when my kids were in college.
I didn’t know their class schedule and although they couldn’t answer the phone in class, they could answer texts. Usually it was to tell me they were in class and would call back later.
Same thing with my kids working these days although I have their work schedule down better since it’s pretty regular full time jobs.
I didn't intend to do it either - thought it was one of the lower forms of communication. Then 1 day I was in an important meeting that I couldn't duck out of and got a text from my daughter who was having car trouble, so I texted her back telling her what to do until I could get out of the meeting and come and get her. She was shocked - "You text?" I told her it's not hard, just never saw the need before. Turns out it's a convenient way to keep in touch when you can't talk.
