When I was a young “executive” in the CATV business, we would have access to the luxury boxes at the Boston and Hartford arenas. Because my office was close to Boston, we would often get calls from the NESN rep telling us that the suite was open for an early April afternoon game if we wanted to come in. We would hop on the commuter rail and be there in a half hour.
We were spoiled. The suite is THE best place to watch a game. For us it was free beer and free food. I know someone paid for it...but not us. It was nice to live like a king for a few hours.
Years later I ran a sports photography business. Sitting on the endline for UConn basketball (Both Men and Women) turned out to be the best seats in the house.
“The suite is THE best place to watch a game.”
They probably watch it on a big screen TV, like us peons, because suites are normally at nose bleed heights where players look the size of ants.
Thanks to en ex-girlfiends rich boss i had spent many games at the Boston Garden luxury box.
Those were great times....got to live like a rich guy.
Free food like shrimp cocktails etc, free booze from the open bar and the pastry cart would come in during the 3rd period of Bruins games.
now i’m back to being a shlub again..
