“No, Egypt prides themselves in being secular...”

Islam is a governing system, and a religion and a war policy. Anyone in Islam can become a “leader” by amassing followers. This represents a danger to the government. The West has imposed its governmental models on the rest of the world because failure to mirror the West’s version of government means political and military domination by the West. Some individual Imam, by amassing followers and living inside the territory of a government can cause all sorts of problems for the government by launching Jihad from that government’s territory. This creates issues with other governments and can cause those governments to take action that will affect the area/country the Imam lives in. A similar analogy might be where an American citizen, like, say Elon Musk, starts attacking, say, Russia. Imagine what issues that might cause for America. Same thing. It’s not that Egypt’s government is secular, which it must be to survive. It’s that Egypt’s government is threatened by Islam.
