At best it is a false balance, which in principal extends beyond physical weight, and which is "an abomination unto the Lord; and a false balance is not good. (Proverbs 20:23)

At worst - and the reality here - it minimizes and winks at sin under the premise that impenitent sinners are only to be shown compassion and affirmation. If a white man outside a KKK meeting was being lovingly foot-washed then the MSM would rightly affirm this.
