Imagine 50 years of John Lennon's 'anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-capitalistic' anthem
ABC South West Vic ^ | 7/5/21 | Matt Neal

"Yoko actually helped a lot with the lyrics, but I wasn't man enough to let her have credit for it," Lennon confessed to reporter David Sheff during a series of interviews for Playboy magazine published just two days before Lennon was shot dead on December 8, 1980.

In early 1971, Lennon finished the lyrics (and Ono's input was officially credited in 2017) and in June that year, he recorded takes at the purpose-built studio at his Tittenhurst Park mansion home — sound engineer Eddie Veale, who helped construct the studio, called it "the first professional home studio in the UK".

There are some like 10 videos on Youtube, saying 7 Colombian youths were taken to heaven and hell, and when they were in hell they saw John Lennon.

The Lord allowed us to see a man who was inside of one of the cauldrons. He was upside down and pieces of flesh were falling off his face. He stared at the Lord intently and then started to shout and call on the name of Jesus. He pleaded, "Lord have mercy! Lord give me a chance! Lord take me out of here!" But the Lord Jesus wouldn't look at him. Jesus simply turned his back to him. When Jesus did this, the man started to curse and blaspheme the Lord. The man was John Lennon, the member of the satanic music group called "The Beatles." John Lennon was a man who mocked and made fun of the Lord during his lifetime. He said that Christianity was going to disappear and Jesus Christ would be forgotten by all. However, today this man is in hell and Jesus Christ is alive!! Christianity hasn't disappeared either.

Found it interesting, I don't know what would be worse, being with Yoko or being in hell.

I notice there are no reports of the other dead Beatle, George being in hell.

I can’t think of another person, living or dead, who has a voice as horrible as Ono’s.

“Imagine”

How quaint. It is great to imagine all sorts of things like world peace, harmony and comfort. Unfortunately, there are savages whose sworn mission is kill every one of us and government bureaucrats. Until they “imagine” they can go to hell and I chose to live in reality.

I’m imagining (pun intended) what the world would be like if that awful song had never been written.

Even as a young kid I thought the song was extremely naive.

Especially “Imagine no possessions”.

What would you do when it’s cold outside and you’re naked?

It just didn’t make sense.

Lennon Racoon went back to his room, only to find Gideon’s Bible.

It’s hard to “imagine” another song that people have tried to tie so much significance to.

Hmm. I understood that in his last years John Lennon had adopted a conservative outlook.

Reagan liked John. John liked him.

He wrote Taxman, and he wrote Revolution. “Don’t you know you can count me out”. That song was less serious theology than an artifact of the horrors coming out of Vietnam and the rest of SE asia. And the rest of the world was pretty violent in 70/71.
It was basically a musical version of Rodney King asking “can we all get along”. Childish and unrealistic.. but at least he should get credit for trying to calm things down. We sure wouldn’t see that today.

But time for the annual hatefest. I don’t know why it makes people feel good to hate a guy who got murdered 40 years ago... but whatever.

PS... the Columbian kids flat ass lied. Only a moron would believe them.

George Harrison wrote "Taxman"

Mostly. George sought out John's help with a few lyrics when he got stuck.

He worked on it and completed it.
“”Taxman” is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1966 album Revolver. Written by the group’s lead guitarist, George Harrison, with some lyrical assistance from John Lennon”

And he liked it.

But kick him in the nuts some more. If Lennon and his music upsets you.... seek help.
And the Columbians made it up.
