The 2024 NBA All-Star game wasn't as competitive as fans hoped for. The players showed no effort on defense, leading to a final score of 211-186.
Reports came in saying that legends of the game and a few veteran players went into the locker rooms of each All-Star team and encouraged them to be competitive, but it wasn't enough.Stars were shooting from everywhere on the court. For the Western All-Stars, seven players scored double digits, including Karl-Anthony Towns, who finished the night with 50. Eight Eastern All-Stars players reached the double-digit mark.
The game was uneventful and disappointed many viewers. According to Yahoo Sports' Vincent Goodwill, Andre Iguodala (NBPA Executive Director), Larry Bird and Julius Erving went into the locker rooms of each team to give the stars a pep talk. Freegards
The NFL Pro Bowl has deteriorated into a flag football game. The NBA All Stars should play the Harlem Globetrotters; it would be a better exhibition game than the farce they put on now.
At least the Harlem Globetrotters are putting on a show.
The NBA All-Stars are not even bothering to do that.
Exactly.
That’s a basket every 15 or 20 seconds.
Hey, I bet they all got great photos of themselves scoring…
🙄
Raise that basket 24” and that stupid game might become interesting.
No, nothing would help…..
NFL All Star Flag Football game. Yeah pro sports is finished
It’s a shame that current rules allow only one ball on the court at a time; just think if there were 5.
When the NBA was great basketball. Damn I miss those days.
George Carlin suggested changing the rules to award 50 points if you can bounce the ball off an opponent and into the basket. I like that.
Basketball players are too talented so the game is boring now.
Curry can make a 3 point shot from anywhere on the court.
Due to training and increasing level of professionalism, the players are so much better than they were 20 years ago.
But that destroyed the game.
Here’s how I’d change basketball. You could make basketball a lot quicker. You know what you do? You have a two second shot clock. Soon as that ball is inbounds get that son-of-a-b***h up in the air. I didn’t come to watch a game of catch; I’m looking for a four or five hundred point ball game. I’m a fan. I want six overtimes and a thousand points on the board. Another thing I would do for basketball at the center court line for ten feet on either side of the center court line, I would have a gasoline fire. You talk about the fast break - you’d see the really fast break. Here’s another suggestion for basketball, I would allow twenty-five points for any ball that goes in the basket off another guy’s head. You’d see some good fights during those close games, I’ll tell you.
-George Carlin
Anybody can be a good 3-point shooter with enough practice.
It’s a lot harder to thread a pass inside for an easy layup or dunk.
That's why Curry broke the game. Anyone can do what he is doing right now.

But more fun to watch. We're not going to see that much anymore.
It's much more efficient to shoot a 3 pt. Splash Brothers showed us the way to do it. Pass the ball to a shooter for an open 3 pt. That's your game plan.
