An actor who was hired to play Willy Wonka at a "shambles" of an event has described the experience as "where dreams went to die" - as a young "Oompa Loompa" was left disappointed he "didn't even get a Freddo".

Willy's Chocolate Experience was brought to a halt on Saturday as parents demanded their money back amid complaints the event was not what was advertised.

The £35-a-ticket experience at Box Hub in Glasgow was sold as a "chocolate fantasy like never before" where "dreams become reality".

Despite promos pledging a "journey filled with wondrous creations and enchanting surprises", families were instead met with a near-empty venue decorated with a handful of Wonka-themed props and a small bouncy castle.

If you have not heard about this debacle and you do Twitter do yourself a favor and go check it out.

It is the funniest thing I have seen this year. I have laughed so hard at reading tweets about this crazy House of Illuminati event

btw, the funniest part so far for me is that the developed a new character called the Unknown that lives in the walls.

When he emerges he freaks out the kids.

The term “caveat emptor” applies here.Buyer beware. If you remain a clueless and gullible consumer, you’ll be taken to the cleaners every time. Cynical but true.

The House of The Illuminati got the cops called on them and it was shut down before the day was out.

There a piece of cardboard with a scrawled message you can barely read that says The House of the Illuminati cancelled the event.

willy wonka has finally hit tmz...hilarious. they have the script

"In the script, the space is described as "a room where the air sparkles with floating bubbles, and rivers of sparking lemonade flow freely." Sounds cool, but in reality, it's just a fold-out table with plastic cups containing a few sips of lemonade ... and a clearly visible trash bag."
