BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST SUNDAY
* WHAT...Extremely dangerous to impossible travel from blizzard
conditions. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 10 feet above 5000
feet, local amounts of 12 feet or more over peaks, with 1 to 4
feet above 3000 feet through Sunday morning. Minor accumulations
down to around 2000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 75 mph or
higher.
* WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada, Northeast
Foothills, Motherlode, and Western Plumas County/Lassen Park
above 2000 feet. Including Interstate 80 and Highway 50.
* WHEN...Until 10 AM PST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Extremely dangerous to impossible travel conditions
with extended road closures likely. Widespread blowing snow
will create blizzard conditions with white-out conditions and
near zero visibility. Very strong winds, combined with heavy
snow could cause extensive tree damage and extended power
outages.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels 4000 to 5000 feet, lowering to
around 2000 feet by Saturday. Intense snow rates of 2 to 4
inches per hour at times. Blizzard conditions at times,
especially through Saturday when snowfall is heaviest.

Researchers discovered a molecular mechanism by which excessive dietary protein could increase atherosclerosis risk.
The study, which combined small human trials with experiments in mice and cells in a Petri dish, showed that consuming over 22% of dietary calories from protein can lead to increased activation of immune cells that play a role in atherosclerotic plaque formation. Furthermore, the scientists showed that one amino acid—leucine—seems to have a disproportionate role in driving the pathological pathways linked to atherosclerosis, or stiff, hardened arteries

I wonder what will happen to Big Fani’s big fanny. I hope it’s all thrown out, but I will expect her to be exonerated. I’m sure the cabal has made their preferences well known to the judge.

It’ll be interesting when my husband goes to get his annual blood work. He’s lost quite a bit of weight on a low-carb diet, lots of meat. He has high cholesterol and blood pressure, so we will see if it is affected one way or the other.

Now I don’t know why but this reminds me of vanilla... I have to go find the article I was reading about how they make artificial vanilla. The exact same molecule that is in natural vanilla can be recreated in the lab very cheaply. And getting Beaver secretions is anything but cheap, those are usually used in perfumes. It’s the scent sack that beavers use to attract other beavers, so it actually is pleasant smelling. Natural vanilla has other scents and flavors in it, so it is more complex than that made in a lab. But it’s actually less vanilla-ey. And it was a typhoon in 2017 that wiped out many of the vanilla producing plants, can’t remember their name. or the island. So that’s why the price has skyrocketed.

Wow that’s quite a blizzard. I’m glad I’m safe in these Tennessee and not at our cabin in the sierras at 7000ft. To make any Headway I had to go out in storms and shovel the path to the wood pile and shovel the stairs as soon as there was a foot or so. This one sounds really hard to keep up with, exhausting.
There was a little community, Camp Nelson, down the hill from us at about 5,000 ft. I don’t believe they even had any snow blowing equipment. Looks like they might be telling people there to evacuate.

My Prius has two clocks, the main one and the one associated with navigation. I can never remember how to change the navigation one. yesterday, I thought I was going to be late to the dentist in Nashville until I remembered it was on the old time. So now I will be up to date as well!
