Here in Texas, Dan Patrick takes over if Abbott is no longer governor...we have NOTHING to worry about with him.

We’d certainly miss Dan Patrick in the Senate, but would strengthen the governorship quite a bit.

I see Trump doing something like that - picking a candidate for whatever post to elevate the next guy into the spot without a campaign to worry about. It worked to get NimRATa out of a governors seat and get replaced with someone more solid!
