The National Weather Service issued a flood warning and asked people in north Monterey County to seek higher ground. I don't think getting on a kayak is what they had in mind.
One person on Kennedy Street in Salinas decided to make the best of a rainy situation.
Shawnie Randle took the video (shown right above) of her neighbor kayaking and said they had a blast. Her neighbor referred to the flooding as Kennedy Lake.
wow. that’s the most exciting thing I have ever seen. /s
Some people just like to make waves.................
Me, too. We’ve all seen similar things over the years.
Now it’s “This poor man had to use a kayak due to Globull Warming”.
LOL!
You beat me to it. That’s a classic Globull Warming propaganda video that went bad.
Sean Penn is losing his touch.
There was a low spot in the road just the next block down from the house where I grew up. Any time we had a t-storm, the run-off from the park and from up and down the street would overwhelm the storm drain and flood the street to about mid-thigh on an average sized person.
We used to swim in it... Ride our bikes through it. Even had some floaties we’d sit in... It’d only last an hour or so after a storm... but it was fun.
They’ve since fixed the drain and it doesn’t flood any more. :-(
I’ve kayaked Soquel Creek. It’s easier at high water as the rocks are covered.
