Ive been adopting senior rescues for decades. I’ve owned pit mixes and they were wonderful dogs. Pure bred pits pile up at the sanctuaries and honest animal control officers will advise people against adoption of these dogs.
The pit Bull breed should be allowed to disappear. There is no role for these dogs.

Parents should be tried and convicted for 2nd degree manslaughter.
Genetic time bombs through no fault of their own. They were bred to literally fight huge bulls in pits surrounded by rowdy humans egging them on, but unlike the English Bulldog (same history) their breed became preposterously large and over-muscular over time while greedy asshats nurtured them to fight other pit bulls.
Put down the dogs out of mercy - put down the pitfight-running humans for the good of society.
They should’ve euthanized parents, as well...
The apologists for this breed will shown up and blame the owners, if they haven’t already but if you own this breed of dog you are playing with fire, period.
They can turn on a dime, no matter how “sweet” they have always been.
IF a Pit Bull bites you they have the crushing pressure to break your bones and kill you.
I was flying into Cabo San Lucas last year and there were fighting rings out in the Baha. Even right in downtown Cabo they still have a Bull fighting arena. The difference is they don’t kill the bull anymore.
Maybe Dog was jealous of all the attention New Baby was getting from the family.

Thank the Lord I had seen a youtube video about two weeks prior that showed how to stop a dogfight.
I recommend it to ALL, because you never know when you might need to use the method described.

I managed to save my boy, although he had to have five stitches. The neighbor paid the nearly $300 vet bill, since his animal, by law, was supposed to be tied or penned up and wasn't.
Protecting yourself or others is also covered in some videos, which you can browse at YT. You never know when some vicious dog may suddenly appear.
