I’m always amazed at the flippant way of politicians. Pence cited two major problems with his backing of Trump.
The first was abortion rights. I hate to be the sad one to inform him but with the over ruling of Roe vs. Wade, the federal government has nothing more than a personal opinion of abortion privileges after it was booted back down to the states. So what Trump or Pence have in the opinion is nothing more and they have a right to free speech in this country...both of them. There is a Constitution “right” to free speech, but there isn’t to abortion. And factually, there never should have been for the feds to determine since the early 70’s.
The second difference was about Trump’s determination on TicTok. Trump is consistent with the first amendment here. What Washington wants to do is attack a business because it is run by a foreign country and unless ByteDance is separated from the service that in our country is driven by free speech, so? Should they do this? Trump opposes it. Which one supports the Constitution?
Pence is a cheap politician. And a member of the swamp. So is what he says really earth shattering?
