I was recently in a Southern California mall that has seen several of these “brawls” between “teenagers” recently - a number of my relatives have told me they’d never set foot in the place again, even though we’ve met there regularly for years. There were signs everywhere stating anyone under 18 had to be accompanied by an adult.
The mall was a ghost town - at a time when it should have been crowded, the stores were completely empty and there was hardly a soul in the usually very busy restaurant where we eat.
I expect to see “out of business” signs soon for stores in this mall.
West Towne Mall on Madistan’s far-West side had the same problem. Feral ‘yutes’ had decided to pretty much take over the place. Muggings, gunfire, scaring the children and the livestock...the usual.
Not sure how they managed to do it without being sued, but that mall clawed it’s way back and also managed to add a really high-end ‘anchor’ store to the mix; Von Maur.
I meet friends there for lunch from time to time, and it’s busy with the ‘walking crowd’ again, too - those people that walk really fast around the mall for exercise. Not sure if that’s a ‘thing’ where the weather is better year-round.
It’s been nice to see them regroup and hopefully it will last.
IMHO it had a LOT to do with the Police Chief Madistan had at the time, God Bless Him. We’ll see how things go now that he’s been retired for a few years.
Back in the day I used to set up all the potted flowers and such for ‘The Easter Bunny’s Garden’ sponsored by Jung Garden Center. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun.

if people would stop supporting these rat hole restaurants, sporting venues, malls, movie theatres then the almighty dollar does speak ....its only when all these businesses crumble do the politicos react....tax money you know.
