“Tall and tan and young and lovely,
The girl from Ipanema goes walking...”
Terrific music in a wonderful time of the world....how we’ve screwed it ups a sin and a crime. But music takes us back for a wonderful moment.
It is great, was a great collaboration. You could call it Jazz but it’s a fusion of its own name: Bossa Nova. It’s a jazz influenced Brazilian sound in that it’s a little off beat and a little off key. But it does have a structure. It’s not free-form Jazz. But it’s incredible, enjoyable, relaxing, and fun.
The best!
Memories....I first saw Brasil 66 live in 1967 when they opened for Peter, Paul & Mary at the Carter Barron Amphitheater in Wash, DC. WHAT A SHOW!
And she’s GONE!

You’re speaking my language.
Save
God, I loved that era of music...Stan Getz, Girl from Ipanema, what’s not to love...
Aww, she passed away. An icon of a better time.
GREAT music! Samba and bossa nova are due for a revival.
Marking.
Jazz/Samba is my favorite music genre. Thanks for posting...

Astrud Gilberto recently passed but her voice was so incredibly pure & gentle...and very sexy, too!
It’s beautiful, sophisticated music. And to think it was the pop music of the time.
And look where we are now. Some things don’t get better with time.
I want to see Herb Alpert and Lani Groves on their tour.
Beautiful. AND timeless. What a wonderful combination of creative talent. Nothing like it since.
