It’s possible. The loan the Russians took out for the pipeline had a force majeure clause that allowed them to stop payment due to an act of war.
Since it wasn’t making any money anyway then destroying the pipeline and crediting someone else for doing it would be a sound business decision.
No kidding, I would not blame them if they did it. I’d actually compliment their shrewd business acumen.
