We always see “plant based meat” or insect based meat”. We never see “impossible broccoli made from 100% pork and beef” or even “insect based cauliflower”.

Cicadas should be considered clean insects, because their diet is vegetable and not other insects or scavangers. Unless they are disease ridden, which is another reason an animal is considered unclean.

I actually found one of those caterpillars when I was 11 years old. It was the most bizarre thing I’d ever seen back then.
The caterpillar is called “A Hickory Horned Devil” and eventually turns into a Regal Moth. The wingspan of that moth and the length of that caterpillar are about 6 inches.

Ever year, when my son was young, he would get a box of sour cream and onions crickets in his Christmas stocking.
He loved them!

For those who elect to eat cricket anything, good luck with the parasites!

Bugs are good and other things like chilled monkey brains.
Let’s face it, we will be lucky to have insects to eat but there will be many dying people to eat.
So, research some recipes for leg of Barbara, and some filet de Bob.
I know, it’s a developed taste...

I noticed that Keebler’s Grasshopper cookies are now called Fudge Mint Delights.
I’m guessing that they are trying to avoid being confused with real grasshopper cookies?

Lots of Mexican food being imported, these days.

I wouldn’t eat them, but years ago we were hearing that the food of the future would be algae. People eat what they have to eat.
