“enacting and approving an inappropriate Law from 1864”
Trump!
We hardly knew ye.
So long.
Point being, he worked to get RvW moved to the States and now, he doesn’t like the decision of state!
He declares there should be no federal law about abortion but sticks his federal-bound nose into AZ decision.
He appoints originalists to the SCOTUS but backs away from laws that are from “the old days”.
This appears to be a crypto-progressive in action.

I wouldn’t go that far. But I’d feel better had Trump not said what he said there. If you’re pro-life, try not to criticize pro-life states. Let it be.
Trump’s entitled to have an opinion on the matter and he is the de facto leader of the GOP.
This AZ Supreme Court decision may very well have been made to intentionally hurt Trump’s chances of winning AZ, a state which may end up being very consequential, once again, in this year’s election. It seems pretty clear to me that Trump’s interest in this decision has a lot more to do with that then a desire to prevent pro-life legislation. And to para-phrase Trump himself, you should go with your heart, but you also have to win elections. This year’s election is of historic importance, as AZ’s role in it will be.
Life liberty and pursuit of happiness was as hypocritical a theme in 1864 as it is in 2024..
IDK if abortion will be that big an issue in AZ?
half the population are catholic/hispanic & the other half are retired snowbirds that don’t have to worry about abortions???
Is the will of the people of the state of Arizona as recently currently expressed the same as the will of the people of the territory of Arizona expressed in 1864?
It seems that the answer is no, and yet, the will of the people of the territory if Arizona in 1864 was just declared by the Arizona judiciary to be the current law of the state of Arizona.
It seems as if justice requires the Arizona legislature to act now to remove this abruptly-imposed disjunction.
