No matter how weak the case is, they should manage to get a conviction on at least one felony count, which is what they need: the Democrats will keep blasting that Trump is a convicted felon from then until election day.
True, the conviction would likely be dismissed on appeal, but it could take a while before that ruling comes down.
Will they try the nuclear option if they get a guilty verdict--order Trump to prison? That will depend on what the White House tells them.
