Hero games was a far more precise system. Not for those challenged with math but you KNEW what your character could do. Aside from that, Pathfinder is fairly playable, but I do miss the old modules.
As soon as our group discovered HERO, we kicked D&D to the curb. I ran or played in multiple HERO campaigns. Fantasy Hero, Star Hero, Justice Inc., and Danger International. Best RPG system there ever was. Learn one set of rules, use it for any genre.
