Schools take stink bombs seriously and in some states (like Illinois) there may be "criminal damage to property" charges, so he should be warned.

No wonder kids get hyper. The ability to be a fun-loving, prankster has been removed from the world of adolescence.

Yep the times have changed. Depending on the school, mere possession of a stink bomb may lead to suspension. They treat them just like an M-80.
