"If the human mind and body are shaped by a bunch of genes, as the decoding of the human genome seems to underscore. . . ."

The NY Slimes has imploded into a putrescent, quivering mess of unintelligible, Left Coast, psychoprose. Divining sense from their drivel would be akin to positing the psyche of a pig from a pile of its dung.

Hasn't it though. As a New Yorker I often muse over this fact. At least outwardly, the gray lady has changed radically in the last 12 years or so. Much of this slide occured in the Cliton years. One suspects that this tendency was always present and has been but amplified by the rise of liberal boomers into editorial power. Moderate and conservative New Yorkers have taken to calling the Times "the new Village Voice." I rarely purchase a Times and when I do I almost expect it to burst into flames upon my touch.

I will tell you that I have an friend with a heart condition. His doctor has actually told him that he should not read the times! That is no joke!; he is forbidden to read it.

One has to laugh.

The only locals worth reading are the WSJ and the Post.
