What happened to the article in the Guardian (UK) re: Dan Rather saying "patiotism run amok"?

What happened to the post I saw, very briefly, for something about Dan Rather being interviewed and saying "patriotism run amok" post 9/11?

I started reading it and I got a phone call.

When the call was over, I jumped back to FR and the post was gone! Either that or I am seeing things.

I did a search and could not find anything.

If that was pulled, I want to know why. Granted, I did not have the opportunity to read much of the article, but it appeared to be a properly sourced article from the "Guardian", I believe. I do not recall who the poster was.

This leads me to bring up my personal displeasure at the too frequent pulling of replies, articles and banning of posters on FR lately.

This is becoming a problem; if not already a problem.

Why should anyone invest the time and effort to post something if it is going to be pulled - that results in less posts!

Why should anyone bother to reply to an article if it is going to be pulled for no good reason - that results in less posts also!

I've been here a long time and it's starting to bother me and other long time Freepers have also commented on this.

The lack of responses to this post seems to support my thesis, doesn't it?

Seems the "find in forum" search isn't working.

What do you mean?

Is the article from the Guardian still on FR and I just could not find it when I refreshed my page?

The most recent copy of this article WAS pulled because it was a duplicate. A search on the word 'media' brought up the earlier one linked above.

Before you destruct this thread...

I did a title search on several things. Yesterday, the search showed the articles, but today the search brings up blank.

I searched on VT for a specific article. The article is still available, but VT in the title (thus search by title) brings up a blank page.

Is there a problem with the search feature?

I'm not aware if there are problems with the search feature. Perhaps a note to Jim or John would answer that question.

This thread is now locked.

I've been informed by other moderators that the search feature will not return hits if less than 4 characters are used to search.
